Data Analyst Intern

Join Referlly as a Data Analyst Intern and help us turn raw data into actionable insights that shape how professionals connect and grow. You'll work directly with the product and growth teams to uncover behavioural patterns, build dashboards, and drive data-informed decisions across the platform. This is a hands-on role — you won't be fetching coffee; you'll be owning real analysis that influences roadmap priorities.

What You'll Do

• Analyse user behaviour, engagement metrics, and funnel performance across the Referlly platform
• Build and maintain dashboards in Metabase, Looker Studio, or Tableau to surface KPIs to the team
• Write well-structured SQL queries to extract, clean, and transform data from production databases
• Design and analyse A/B experiments, then present findings with clear, actionable recommendations
• Partner with product and engineering teams to define, instrument, and track product KPIs
• Identify drop-off points and friction in the referral and job-matching flows
• Prepare weekly and monthly data reports for founders and leadership
• Document data definitions, metric logic, and query libraries for team use

What We're Looking For

• Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field
• Strong proficiency in SQL — comfortable writing multi-table joins, window functions, and subqueries
• Solid command of Excel or Google Sheets for exploratory analysis and presentation
• Familiarity with at least one BI tool (Metabase, Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or Google Data Studio)
• Basic Python or R skills for data wrangling and visualisation (pandas, matplotlib, ggplot) is a plus
• Strong analytical thinking — you can tell the story behind the numbers, not just report them
• Excellent written and verbal communication; you can explain findings to non-technical stakeholders
• Self-starter attitude — you ask questions, take ownership, and follow through
